School Charity Committee

We started the year on a high in September with many staff baking for MacMillan Cancer.  The sweet break time treats raised a record amount of over £400 for the charity.

November provided an opportunity to support Children in Need with Upper Sixth enjoying a day in fancy dress and many Yr 14 students opted to have their legs waxed!  Other year groups enjoyed a non-uniform day.  As a school we donated £2,562 towards this worthy cause.

November also gave the charity committee the opportunity to support “Movember” and £656 was donated to Prostate Cancer UK.  An assembly was also delivered by OddBalls to senior pupils emphasising the importance of good mental health and the need for regular health checks.

To close term 1 we accepted food donations for our local food bank, helping to support families in need within our local community.  Pupils got to enjoy a Christmas jumper day that coincided with our lovely Christmas lunch.

In 2023 we hope to support Chest Heart and Stroke NI with a red themed non-uniform day in February.

In the summer term we also plan to have a sponsored walk with our junior school pupils.  This is a great opportunity to exercise, relax with friends and raise money as we stroll along the coastal path and boost our Vitamin D intake. Each year group will get to choose their chosen charity.

Community is at the heart of our school mission statement, and we are proud of our generous giving to others less fortunate than ourselves.

Thank you to every family who helps support us with our charity donations.
